Public Records in the ACT

The Australian Capital Territory is home to the nation’s capital of Canberra. It was established in 1913 between Melbourne and Sydney to house the Federal Government. Since that time, ACT Public Records have been collected and maintained.

The Territory Records Office is responsible for all Government Records in accordance with the Territory Records Act 2002.

In addition to official Government sources, we provide additional records housed in both public and private collections to provide a complete picture. These include both current day and historical sources.

The ACT has a diverse range of collections available. You can find unclaimed money, check occupational licences, find land and property records, tender information and more.
