In Queensland, all applications for probates, letters, or administration in relation to a deceased estate have been published online since January 2012. Queensland Reports makes the database available through a simple search of family name or first name. For recent additions, you can either check the latest release of the Queensland Law Reporter or wait until late in the day and search the probate notice database.
The results provide a person’s name as well as any other known names. There is also a link to the report by date and a page number where available. Selecting this will open a PDF copy of the Queensland Law Reporter where you can view the public notice.
Notices prior to 2012 were published in hard copy in the Queensland Reporter. These date back to 1908. If you wish to view these documents you’ll need to visit the Supreme Court of Queensland Library.
