The State Archives and Records Authority of New South Wales is responsible for the collection and storage of NSW public records. The are responsible under the State Records Act 1998 and formerly the Archives Act of 1960.

They house a vast range of records dating back to 1788 and offer many collections online. Historical Records are being digitised, transcribed and made available by browsing and searching.
