Search over 23,000 records in the Insolvency Index NSW. Entries range from 1842 through to 1887.

A search may be performed by surname, first name, locality, occupation. business and year of sequestration. Results return street address where available, locality, file number, date of certificate issue and item where relevant.

Once you have obtained and documented the file number, you can access the records in the reading room at the Western Sydney Records Centre.

Insolvency was when someone was unable to meet and pay of any debts.

As the
Insolvency Index NSW is not complete, additional searches may be carried out using the NSW Government Gazette from the era.
